 The area was known as "Oswego Falls" due to the rapids on the Oswego River and was one of the first regions settled in the Town of Granby. Settlement commenced in two locations, the "Upper Landing" and the "Lower Landing." In 1826, construction of the Oswego Canal began, and it was completed in 1828.
